Jets second-year quarterback Zach Wilson appears to have escaped an anterior cruciate ligament injury after an awkward fall in the preseason in New York. However, coach Robert Saleh says that “he’s not out of the woods yet.”
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, “Zach Wilson is flying to Los Angeles to undergo knee surgery.”
Adding that the team is “optimistic” about a meniscus tear, but they won’t know about it until doctors arrive there.
The NFL world reacted to the news on Twitter.
“I’m not nervous about all this,” one user replied.
“Hmm,” the Jets fan laughed.
“Also, the Jets are really signaling that the good news this weekend wasn’t all that good,” tweeted Mike Tanier.
“It’s a pity that there are no hospitals and doctors in New York,” another commented.
“I highly recommend Rudolf for round 5, just in case. I just care about all the parties involved,” said a concerned Steelers fan.
“If he misses more than 4 weeks, I will lose him.”
Hang on, Jets fans.
