Rusev gives his opinion on the wasted potential he saw in The League Of Nations

The former WWE United States champion Rusev was recently interviewed by Peter Roumeliotis. During the session, the Bulgarian spoke about the potential of his alliance with Sheamus, Alberto Del Río and King Barrett, known as The League Of Nations. Next, his statements (transcript courtesy of Fightful ):

“That thing never got a chance. He never had a chance. Theoretically, on paper, it could have been the best faction ever , but he never had the chance. He was there to be the Roman Reigns punching bag, which is also Well, we did great, we built him and he went to win the title, so we did our job well. ”

The League Of Nations was a faction formed by Sheamus, Rusev, Alberto Del Río and King Barrett in late 2015 and early 2016 to defend Sheamus after his exchange of the Money In The Bank briefcase on Roman Reigns in Survivor Series for the World Championship WWE Heavyweight.

The group’s first appearance took place on November 30, 2015 in Raw , when Rusev, Del Rio and Barrett interrupted a starting rematch between Reigns and Sheamus, costing Reigns the chance to win the belt. The League Of Nations again helped “The Celtic Warrior” retain the title in TLC 2015, although they could not prevent him from losing it against Reigns the following night at Raw.

Reigns lost the championship in Royal Rumble 2016 against Triple H, starting a rivalry for WrestleMania 32 and separating his path from that of The League Of Nations. The group, meanwhile, defeated The New Day in a three-on-four disadvantaged fight in “The Showcase of the Immortals,” but were attacked after the fight by “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley. The members of the group expelled King Barrett from it in the post-WrestleMania Raw, and the team ended up dissolving a few weeks later, on April 28 on SmackDown.
