In the weeks following her death, family, friends and fans continue to honor Lisa Maria Presley. Presley, who died at the age of 54 after a cardiac arrest, was buried at Graceland last Sunday. Many went to Memphis, Tennessee, to pay tribute to the artist, and a number of famous people paid their respects at the memorial service. Of course, one of those who shared their memories of Presley was her mother Priscilla. During the service, she shared a candid message that her granddaughter wrote after Lisa Maria’s death.
It is reported that Priscilla Presley shared incredibly emotional feelings when she took to the podium to praise her late daughter. According to People, she read excerpts from the poem “Old Soul” and burst into tears when she expressed her personal feelings at the end of her speech. Nevertheless, she began her speech with a poem written by her granddaughter, who expressed some very warm thoughts about the “superhero” of her mother, with whom she was blessed:
I’m going to read something my granddaughter wrote for all of you, and that says it all. I have no idea how to describe my mother in words. The truth is that there are too many of them. Lisa-Maria Presley was an icon, a role model, a superhero for many people around the world, but Mom was my icon, a role model, my superhero — in many ways. Even now I can’t convey everything that needs to be understood or learned about her, but as she always said, I will do everything in my power.
The 77-year-old matriarch did not specify which of her grandchildren wrote these beautiful thoughts, but it is likely that they came from one of her late daughter’s 14-year-old twins: Harper and Finley. Lisa Maria Presley’s eldest daughter, Riley Keough, paid tribute with a few warm words. During the service, her husband Ben Smith-Petersen read her message and in the process told her that he and Kio have their own little girl. On the eve of the funeral, Keo also honored her mom with a cute post on social media, while Grandma Priscilla also spoke out.
Priscilla Presley shared another message after the service at Graceland. In the post, she thanked fans for their support, and also told what the last few weeks have been like for her family. The tweet can be viewed below:

The family is going through a transitional period after the death of Lisa-Maria Presley. The songwriter’s two youngest daughters are now under the care of their father (and her ex-husband) Michael Lockwood, who recently released a statement. In it, he expressed regret over the death of his ex-wife, although he mentioned that their two children have an “incredible spirit” and they are doing everything possible at this time. In addition, the twins and sister Riley Keough are now taking over the Graceland Estate.
