In addition to the sequels that have dominated Hollywood for several years (decades), it seems that the creators are interested in telling stories about the heyday of Hollywood. This trend started with “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and continues with “Babylon” and “The Proposal.” While Paramount has decided to chronicle the creation of one of the classic “The Godfather” films, Warner Bros is now planning to introduce younger viewers to Buster Keaton. And Ryan Reynolds is already tweeting about it!

Buster Keaton was one of the most influential figures of the silent film era. Given that his films were ahead of his time and were mostly comedies, it’s no surprise that the Deadpool star was a fan of the departed star.

Ryan Reynolds is looking forward to seeing Rami Malek as Buster Keaton.

Warner Bros is creating a limited series about the life of Buster Keaton. The limited series is set to star Emmy and Oscar winner Rami Malek in the title role, and will be directed by Matt Reeves. Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to express his delight at the news. He also praised one of his favorite short films about Keaton, The Art Of The Gag.

The series is produced by Malek, David Weddle and Matt’s 6th & Idaho Productions. Daniel Pipsky and Rafi Krohn will be the executive directors. According to Deadline, Warner Bros is currently trying to recruit Ted Cohen, who has such shows as “Continuity,” “Vice President” and “Friends” under his belt, to write the script. He is also in talks to join the project as one of the executive producers. It is reported that the series is based on the book by the famous biographer James Curtis “Buster Keaton: the Life of a filmmaker”.

Reeves recently proved his mettle in the Batman movie, which earned about $771 million worldwide. He is currently working on an offshoot of “Batman” — “Penguin” starring Colin Farrell. Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds is keeping an eye on what will happen in streaming. And also busy preparing for “Deadpool 3”. The film returns Hugh Jackman as Wolverine after his death in Logan. Recently, Hugh dispelled fans’ fears that the triquel would ruin the MCU timeline.
