Naomi: The CW channel released last Friday (30) the first image of the Naomi series, based on the eponymous comic strip of DC. The poster reveals the look of actress Kaci Walfall as main character Naomi McDuffie and recreates the debut cover of the comic book series, released in 2019.
Fans can get excited, as the producers made sure to follow the look of the comics to the letter on the poster.
The plot follows the journey of Naomi McDuffie, an adopted girl who lives in a small town. When a supernatural event shakes her homeland, the young woman finds out that she was sent to Earth to save herself from Zumbado, a planet conqueror who ended her birthplace. From there, Naomi will need to discover her origins, mature and develop her powers. In the comics, the character can manipulate energy, has super strength and can fly.
The broadcaster has not yet ordered a full season. If the pilot episode is approved, The CW must forward the complete production of the project. In addition to Walfall, actors Alexander Wraith, Cranston Johnson, Barry Watson, Mouzam Makkar, Mary-Charles Jones and Camila Moreno have already been confirmed in the cast. The production is by Ava DuVernay (responsible for Netflix’s Condemning Eyes), Jill Blankenship, Sarah Bremner and Paul Garnes.
