Lisa Marie Presley Apparently Became a Grandmother Before She Died, As Revealed by Husband Riley Keough in a Touching Funeral Speech

Many were shocked and saddened by the death of Lisa Maria Presley, who died at the age of 54 due to cardiac arrest. Today, the late singer-songwriter was laid to rest at Graceland, where she will be buried alongside her famous father Elvis and late son Benjamin. Lisa-Maria was many things to many: a beloved daughter, a devoted mother and, of course, an adored artist. But, as it turned out, she, apparently, was also a grandmother. This information became known during her memorial service when the husband of Riley Keough, her eldest child, revealed it during a touching speech.

Since 2015, Riley Keough has been married to Ben Smith-Petersen, who performed at the funeral on behalf of his wife. He addressed the audience with a speech written by his wife, and in a particularly touching moment mentioned that he and Kio are the parents of a little girl. The speech itself was incredibly touching and perfectly illustrated what Lisa Maria Presley meant to her daughter. ET managed to capture some love feelings:

I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters. Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my empathy, my courage, my sense of humor, my manners, my temperament, my wildness, my perseverance. I am the product of your heart, my sisters are the product of your heart, my brother is the product of your heart.

It wasn’t the first time the actress honored her mother after her death. Just a few days ago, Riley Keough left a sweet tribute on social media. She posted a retrospective photo of her and her famous mom, and for the caption she just added a heart emoji. The post was cute and got reactions from various stars, but it seemed like this speech was the way the star really wanted to express her feelings.

According to ET, the Mad Max: Fury Road graduate and her family have received great support at the service. A lot of people attended the funeral in Memphis, Tennessee, and quite a few musical excerpts from famous stars were played. Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins performed a rendition of “To Sheila”, and Jason Clark and the Tennessee Mass Choir performed “Amazing Grace” and “Revelation 19:1”. Alanis Morissette warmed hearts with the song “Rest” and Guns ‘N. Roses founding member Axl Rose, who also spoke about his friendship with the late “So Lovely” singer during the hearing, sang “November Rain”.

Lisa-Maria Presley’s family, especially her mother, Priscilla and her three children, undoubtedly appreciated the love. The brood is currently facing a lot of changes, especially with the children who now have the Graceland Estate. Presley’s 14-year-old twin girls, Harper and Finley, are also now under the care of her ex-husband Michael Lockwood, who spoke about her death and how he and their children are doing. One would imagine that two teenagers, along with their sister Riley Keough and her daughter, would strive to preserve the legacy of their mother and grandmother for many years to come.

We here at CinemaBlend continue to think about Lisa Maria Presley’s family and loved ones at this time.
