NBC presented a commercial “Law and Order: SVU”, which talked about the long-awaited reunion of Bensler, but fans of the legal drama were disappointed after the episode itself. Despite the fact that Mariska Hargitey and Christopher Meloni handled the emotional scene, it wasn’t all the viewers were hoping for, because the promo seemed to tease a kiss between Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler. After the obvious disappointment, the star of the TV series “Law and Order: Organized Crime” Daniel Monet Truitt is now more than ever feeling sorry for those who sent Benson and Stabler.
Danielle Monet Truitt spoke about Bensler shippers during an interview with People. Based on her comments, she totally agrees that NBC has pulled the fan chains again when it comes to Benson and Stabler. This time it’s especially difficult because both clearly have feelings for each other. Ultimately, however, Benson wasn’t quite ready for the next step. When asked if the former partners will ever be together, Truitt shared her honest thoughts, while expressing her sympathy for the shippers:
I don’t know! Sometimes I feel sorry for the shippers because I, like, don’t know if they’re taking you guys for a walk or what. For the sake of all of you, I hope something happens to them. I think they tricked you guys last week. Hopefully one day.
These are very diplomatic thoughts of the actress. At the moment, to be honest, it seems that almost everyone is shipping Bensler — or at least sympathizing with fans who have had “will-not-be” thoughts over the past two decades. It is unknown whether Benson and Stabler will ever get together, despite the fact that the former partners definitely have feelings for each other. However, despite the uncertainty, it can be argued that shippers are not going to give up.
Meanwhile, Danielle Monet Truitt’s character, Ayanna Bell, has reached the limit with a Stabler in the series “Organized Crime.” Besides, Benson has been through a lot since the Duarte situation, and she definitely could use a little happiness in her life. It goes without saying that there are currently tensions in various ways in the L&O universe, as one would expect.
It’s hard to say whether SVU and Organized Crime are really on the same page regarding Benson and Stabler, given that they present different perspectives on their connection. So from this point of view, it can be difficult to start an affair. Although I believe that if the writers and producers really want it, they will be able to come up with something based on the plot.
Law & Order: The next new episode of SVU is expected to air only in a few weeks, and the same can be said about organized crime. So it will be some time before the fans reunite with the respective teams of the two shows. There are a lot of questions to think about in order to move forward, such as when the next crossover might happen. But now I’m sure most of them (and will remain) concerned about the status of Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson’s relationship after the “kiss that almost was.” I hope the audience will at least take some comfort in knowing what a franchise star like Daniel Monet Truitt feels for them at this time.
