Earlier this week, Questlove revealed that he was one of the tribute curators in a new video ad released on January 31, teasing that he was working on a tribute with some of the “biggest names” in hip-hop.
According to Questlove, the performance will be dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the birth of hip-hop, and it will feature a number of artists from this genre, “its past, present and future.”
In the video , Questlove said: “I am really very pleased to announce that there will be a special segment on the Grammy telecast this Sunday evening dedicated to the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.

Questlove went on to say that hip-hop’s “impact on our culture and our world” is “immeasurable,” and described it as “a driving force in music, in culture.” He continued: “It was a great honor to be the curator of this project together with The Roots and many others who will join us that evening.
